About this place
At MANPUKU, the liver in the stir-fry is cut generously rather than thinly, giving each piece a satisfying presence. Eaten with garlic chives and bean sprouts, it makes for a hearty mouthful, with the sprouts’ crunch contrasting with the substantial pieces of liver. Some diners describe the seasoning as robust and say it goes particularly well with rice. The stir-fry is ¥850, and a serving of plain rice starts at ¥150, making it easy to pair the signature dish with a bowl of rice.
For liver served over rice, there is also the pure-liver bowl, listed in small and large sizes for ¥750 and ¥1,200. Some diners have ordered it alongside the liver stir-fry; choosing one dish or doubling up lets you decide how substantial a meal you want. Gyoza, available in portions of 3 for ¥350, and fried rice for ¥800 offer alternatives or additions. Bottled beer is available in the evening, and diners have reported ordering it with liver stir-fry and gyoza.
The restaurant is in Kanda-Surugadai 3-chome. Reports describe an all-counter interior, making it suitable for solo dining. Reservations are not accepted, so bear that in mind when planning a visit.
